Final See You Later!

This experience has been a memorable one. It has pushed me to a whole new level both personally as well as professionally. Three deep insight gained has been unforgettable from here forward.

First, treasure knowledge and the insight gained through furthering education, networking or reading new material on early learning. Never stop learning and NEVER stop educating others outside the early learning realm the importance.

Second, advocate for all children and families. Get to know the families and be their voice they may not need you more than the daily happenings, but there is always the possible chance they need more. Building relationships and having the ability to offer a deeper ability to be leaned on and utilized as a resource and wealth of knowledge.

Finally, let the child lead. Build the environment, curriculum, and all in the center to be for them. Allow them to play and be kids. They are only young once just let them play!

Long term I hope to continue my journey in the military child youth programs. Advocating for the children and families as I work alongside them. Working to incorporate my challenge as well offering the inclusive environments in our preschool classrooms.

I wish you all well it has been a wonderful time to learn and get to know each of you. What drives you is a beautiful passion I hope continues to burn. I hope that you all continue to chase your dreams and make the difference I know that you can. I thank you all for the support, feedback and insight.

Forever grateful,
Stephanie

Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: Internationally

At least three international organizations or communities of practice that appealed to you and why you chose them

UNICEF is an international organization I choose due to the mission they hold. Allowing for children to have an organization that gives back their right to being able to have basic needs met is important to growth and development. For this reason I take an interest in UNICEF. Many children are not given their basic needs let alone an education, UNICEF works to lessen the gap giving children a greater chance at growth and development (UNICEF, n.d.).

International Step by Step international is a new one that I learned about through this activity. They stand out to me due to the large emphasis they put upon early learning and the impact it makes on a child’s growth and development (ISSA, n.d.). Creating an awareness is an important part of pushing forward to allow children to get the opportunities to learn early in life.

UNESCO was the final one I found to be interesting. This organization makes the shift to bringing forward common values and embracing them allowing for human rights to be achieved encompassing the importance of alleviating poverty and building mutual respect (UNESCO, 2017). Looking deeper into the root of the issues of all and bringing all involved is important to create a change allowing for all to grow and achieve goals as a community.

·       Job opportunities (currently available or not) that interest you

I found the recruitment posting for UNICEF if I was able to be mobile and work abroad this would be the job that would interest me.

International Professional (IP)
International Professional (IP) staff are recruited internationally and serve in duty stations outside their country of nationality. They hold leadership, managerial or specialist functions. Because these roles require a certain level of technical expertise, normally a master's degree from an accredited institution is a minimum requirement for posts in this category. IP staff are expected to rotate to new duty stations based on the rules on mobility and tour of duty. They must be willing to work in various regions and settings, including emergencies.
