At least three international organizations or
communities of practice that appealed to you and why you chose them
UNICEF is an international organization I choose due to the
mission they hold. Allowing for children to have an organization that gives
back their right to being able to have basic needs met is important to growth
and development. For this reason I take an interest in UNICEF. Many children are
not given their basic needs let alone an education, UNICEF works to lessen the
gap giving children a greater chance at growth and development (UNICEF, n.d.).
International Step by Step international is a new one that I
learned about through this activity. They stand out to me due to the large
emphasis they put upon early learning and the impact it makes on a child’s
growth and development (ISSA, n.d.). Creating an awareness is an important part
of pushing forward to allow children to get the opportunities to learn early in
life.
UNESCO was the final one I found to be interesting. This
organization makes the shift to bringing forward common values and embracing
them allowing for human rights to be achieved encompassing the importance of alleviating
poverty and building mutual respect (UNESCO, 2017). Looking deeper into the
root of the issues of all and bringing all involved is important to create a
change allowing for all to grow and achieve goals as a community.

Job opportunities (currently available or not) that interest you
I found the recruitment posting for UNICEF if I was able to be
mobile and work abroad this would be the job that would interest me.
International Professional (IP)
International Professional (IP)
staff are recruited internationally and serve in duty stations outside their
country of nationality. They hold leadership, managerial or specialist
functions. Because these roles require a certain level of technical expertise,
normally a master's degree from an accredited institution is a minimum
requirement for posts in this category. IP staff are expected to rotate to new
duty stations based on the rules on mobility and tour of duty. They must be
willing to work in various regions and settings, including emergencies.

Hi-as Emily stated, Step by Step was new to me as well. It would be difficult for me to leave my family behind but I have great respect for those who are willing to do so. Great information.
